We promise they're on their way!
When yours arrives, if you're planning on coming but haven't let us know yet, please be so kind as to RSVP Tim at cassidtr@gmail.com. Obviously, as your attendance also requires that you purchase a plane ticket and hotel lodging, most, if not all of you who are coming have already automatically RSVPed by sending us your flight confirmations :)
But, in case you're one of those wonderfully spontaneous types who hasn't yet let us know that you're planning on coming, please RSVP us at the above email as you soon as you can. Thanks!
Also, as you live in the U.S., the invitation you will be receiving is in English (except those of some of you, who know quite a lot of Spanish :) Nevertheless, even a few parts of the English invitations are in Spanish, so don't get scared:
1) the ticket(s) - Please bring them with you to Mexico!
2) the quote on the envelope below your name (very much worth translating, if you have the time)
OK, I think that's all. But don't worry if there appear any other unfamiliar things in Spanish on your invitation. All the important information is either there in English or is included on the blog.
Another post to come soon on Mexican wedding dress and etiquette... :)

Our gift registries
We are registered at three stores; two in the U.S. (Williams-Sonoma and Bed Bath & Beyond) and one in Mexico (Liverpool). Liverpool is a Mexican equivalent of Belk or J.C. Penney. Because their site is only in Spanish, we've also included the two places in the U.S.
For the Williams-Sonoma and BB&B registries, just search "Timothy Cassidy." Items from either of those registries will be shipped to my parents' address in Charlottesville, VA. Also, when searching for our registry on Williams-Sonoma, they ask for a state. It's Virginia, because that's the state my parents' address is in.
Love to everyone! Be in touch again soon.

Change in making reservations at Jacarandas
I know that some of you have had issues with making your reservations at Hotel Jacarandas. That is due primarily to two recent changes to their website. First, their English website that had been up and running just went back under construction a week and a half ago. Second, they also recently implemented a new reservation form, which, among other things, does not include a space for you to let them know that you're with our group. As a result, they have no way of knowing that they need to apply the group rate to what they're charging you.
After talking with them, we've come up with a solution. Instead of trying to make reservations via their website, just email Marcela Leon directly at reservaciones@jacarandas.com.mx, including:
1) Your dates of arrival and departure.
2) The full name of the person making the reservation, total number of persons in your group, total number of rooms you'll be needing and type of room (either Terrace A or B).
3) An email for her to contact you by (the email you use to contact her is just fine).
4) Lastly, be sure to mention that you're part of Pao and Tim's wedding group.
That's it! Marcela will be in contact with you shortly via email to confirm your reservation and ask for a form of payment.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at cassidtr@gmail.com. Also, even though you won't be needing their website in Spanish to make reservations, it's still got some great pictures of the hotel's gorgeous facilities. Check it out here: http://jacarandas.com.mx/
A very happy and safe Halloween/Día de los Muertos (the Mexican Day of the Dead celebrated on Nov. 2) to everyone :) Looking forward to seeing you all in a little over a month!
Un abrazote,
Tim & Pao

Lodging in Cuernavaca
I am excited to announce that lodging for everyone in Cuernavaca will be at the gorgeous Hotel Jacarandas (pronounced Ha-ka-rahn-das)! Trust me, pictures just don't do this place justice. It's a paradise. It's also where the religious ceremony will be on Saturday afternoon at 1pm before we all head together to the reception. Just below is the hotel's website. This version of it is almost completely in English, and while not always perfectly translated, it gets the job done nicely:
http://jacarandas.com.mx/anteriorweb/english/inicio.htm
No need to pay any attention to the room rates on the site, we have our own special group rate. Basically, there are two great room options for you all to choose from, depending on how many people you have coming with you:
Terrace B rooms fit 1-4 adults comfortably. Each one is equipped with two queen-size beds, a spacious bathroom, cable t.v. and free wireless internet.
With our special rate, each costs $1,550 mexican pesos (about $124 USD) a night, with the third night free and breakfast every morning included. So, if you are staying for three or more nights (most of you will be staying for four), you get the third night free! Oh yea!
Terrace A rooms are a bit bigger. They fit 4-6 adults comfortably. Each one is equipped with two queen-size beds, two twins, an enormous bathroom w/ two of everything (shower, toilet, sink, etc.) cable t.v. and free wireless internet. Also, they all look directly out onto one of the three pools that Jacarandas has.
Again, with the special rate, each costs $1,750 (around $140 USD) a night, with breakfast every morning included and the same third-night-free discount applying.
To check out pictures of the different room options, on the left-hand side of the hotel's main page, click on "visit our facilities". Next, to place your reservation, go back to the main menu, click on "reservations" and fill out the form. VERY IMPORTANT: In order for them to know that you're with our group and give you the discount, before sending the form, be sure to mention that you're with Pao and Tim's Wedding group at the bottom of the page in the comments section. Ok, now you can press send :)
They will get back to you by email in English and ask for a form of payment. In order to confirm your reservation, a pre-payment of at least 50 percent must be made before you arrive.
This can be done (1) by email (reservaciones@jacarandas.com.mx) or (2) by telephone (their number is below), providing your credit card (Visa, American Express or MasterCard) information or (3) by making a deposit in the following bank account to proceed with the reservation.
If you would prefer to do the electronic transfer option, below, you will find all the information that your bank will ask of you in order to make an international electronic transfer:
BANK NAME: BANAMEX (BANCO NACIONAL DE MEXICO SA)
ACCOUNT #: 33900002245
INTERBANK ACCOUNT #: 002540033900022451
NATIONAL CURRENCY: MEXICAN PESO
BRANCH #: 339
BRANCH ADDRESS: Avenida Plan de Ayala # 801 Esquina Central / Norte Vicente Guerrero, Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico
SWIFT CODE: BNMXMXMM
For further details about your reservation, please do not hesitate to contact the hotel at:

email: reservaciones@jacarandas.com.mx
Telephone: + 52 (777) 100 77 78 / 100 77 87

Ok, I know that was a ton of information. No need to panic. Again, any questions at all, just email the hotel or shoot them my way.
We're so excited to have you with us in just a couple of months!

Getting Here/Flight Info
Hey everyone!
We’re so excited that the big day is just over two months away now, and we hope that you all will be able to join us here in Mexico this December for all the fun!
First things first, if you are planning on coming, here is what you will need to know to be able to go ahead and buy your plane tickets. We are requesting that everyone purchase their tickets to arrive, if possible, on Wednesday, Dec. 1st and to depart on Sunday, Dec. 5th. Don’t worry if you’ve already bought your tickets for different days; we’re just asking for folks to do the 1st to the 5th if they can so that organizing rides from the airport in Mexico City to the hotel in Cuernavaca and back will be as simple as possible for Pao and me AND so that a maximum number of you all will be able to accompany us on Friday, Dec. 3rd to the civil ceremony in Cuernavaca. As of yet, we're not sure whether the civil ceremony will be on Friday or Saturday, the same day as the religious wedding. When we know for sure, we'll tell everyone.
Also, please purchase your tickets to arrive and depart from the Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City (if you’re searching on a site like Expedia, the airport code is ‘MEX’). There will be direct transportation from the airport in Mexico City to the hotel in Cuernavaca, and back.
Again, no worries if you’ve already bought your tickets for different days or for some reason can’t do the 1st to the 5th. We’ll still be at the airport to greet you with a smile and get you to Cuernavaca.
Lastly, and very importantly, once you’ve purchased your tickets, please be so kind as to forward Tim a copy of your itinerary at cassidtr@gmail.com so that we can make sure to be at the airport for you when you arrive. Thank you!
We can’t wait to see you in December! More trip details and information to come soon. We hope to answer most of your questions through the blog, but please feel free to email Tim at the above email address with any questions you may have. ...And stay tuned to the blog for more updates…☺

How We Met
Paola and I met for the first time in September of 2008 in Mexico City at Semilla de Mostaza, her church of ten years and mine of several weeks. Neither of us remembers that day very well other than that it was when we met. But, she soon became good friends with the girls on my STINT team, so we continued to see one another a lot throughout the rest of the Fall and into Spring of 2009. During this time, some of the girls on my team would often tell me how sweet Pao was and how they thought we would be great together. But, as Pao and I were just beginning to become friends at this point, I was perfectly contented with being her friend and continuing to get to know her better. Nevertheless, their advice stuck with me.
In the Spring, I began going to a Semilla Bible study on Wednesday evenings. The first night, I was pleasantly surprised to see Pao there as well! We sat together and then she gave me a ride home from the study. This went on for the next several months and our friendship continued to deepen. Pao tells me that it was around this time that she really began to be interested in me. Then in April was Misión Acapulco, Campus Crusade's annual student conference in Mexico. Pao was invited to help direct the conference and, as it turned out, I was assigned to be a personal assistant/errand boy for the directors throughout the week. So for me, it was there in Acapulco that I really began to get interested in Pao, too. But, as I was headed back to the U.S. several weeks later to re-raise support for the summer and wasn't sure whether I would be able to come back in the Fall, I decided to wait and see what plans God had for us.
Well, I returned in late August for STINT year two and we saw one another just several days after I had gotten back at a party. We hit it off again as if I'd never been gone, and about a month later in October we became official. Over this past year, we've had a blast getting to know one another better. We enjoy each other and our families and are excited to see the plans God has for us as a married couple.
